Beautiful Dreamer

Music and Lyrics by Ed Bogas

As she stands at the window
Her face turned toward the sun
The gifts she has accepted stacked up on the floor
How they all surround her, she can’t put them down
They seem to have a voice they didn’t have before

“Come to our beautiful dream, Beautiful Dreamer”
They seem to say to her,
“Don’t let hope divide you – Surrender!
Love is an illusion, just a foolish episode
Take our hands, we’ll guide you – Surrender!”

She’s waiting for her soul to find its peace
For the moment of release
When she no longer hears the cries of rage
Waiting for the voices to subside
Will she fly away outside?
Or will she just be a bird in a guilty cage?

As she stands by the piano, trying to find the key
The one she hoped would open the door to Paradise
Will she leave it all behind her
And fly where she would fly?
Or can she teach her heart the Art of Sacrifice?

She’s waiting for a sign to lead the way
To conclude these endless days
And the nights that bring no rest at all
Waiting for her heart to speak its mind
For the strength she cannot find
To help her rise when she starts to fall

“Come to our dream
Dreamer, won’t you come to our dream?
Dreamer, won’t you come to our dream?
Surrender!”

“Love is an illusion, just a foolish episode
Take our hands, we’ll guide you – Surrender!”
